A Study of the commands from our Lord, Jesus the Christ
Week 26, May 23rd
This week's Tour Stop is about why I write this blog each week thus the title: Reflection.
One reason, I write, is to obey the command of the LORD to "Preach the Gospel"
(see
Mark 16:15 (NASB)).
Two weeks ago in Week 24: Preach the Gospel - A Deeper Dive,
I shared that to obey this command all you have to do is proclaim the glad tidings of salvation through Christ.
I also believe, people tend to listen to your proclamation, when your actions provide evidence you mean what you say. In other words, if you want people to believe there are "glad tidings of salvation" through believing Christ is LORD, then your life should reflect your gratitude for that salvation.
So each week, when I "proclaim" the benefits of obeying the commands of Jesus, I also "reflect" on my own personal
struggles of obeying the very command of Jesus I am writing about.
Right now
the Accuser (see
Revelation 12:10 (NASB))
is trying to plant the "seeds of doubt" by asking me: "did YOU obey the commands of Jesus this week"?
- Did YOU Love the LORD?
Week 1: It Starts with Love
- Did YOU worry? Week 5: Do Not Worry
- Do YOU believe Jesus? Week 8: Believe In Me
- Did YOU render unto GOD? Week 20: Render Unto Caesar
- Did YOU "Watch Out" for the "leaven" in your actions? Week 25: Watch Out
AND THEN
the Holy Spirit, who dwells within me
(see
1 Corinthians 3:16 (NASB)),
reminds me I am NOT alone!
The Holy Spirit reminds me to tell the Accuser that I can do ALL things through HIM
(see
Philippians 4:13 (NASB)).
And that is the take away this week and every week. Depending on your own strength to obey the commands of our LORD is impossible because apart from Him we can do nothing.
(see
John 15:5 (NASB))
That statement: "apart from HIM we can do nothing" should give you unspeakable joy BECAUSE:
- You, the disciple of Christ, are never alone (see
Matthew 28:20 (NASB)).
- You, the disciple of Christ, have the ability to approach the thrown of GOD "forgiven of all your sins" and "cleansed of all unrighteousness"
because of Jesus (see
1 John 1:9 (NASB)).
- You, the disciple of Christ, are a new creature (see
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB)).
- You, the disciple of Christ, have been blessed with all spiritual blessings (see
Ephesians 1:3 (NASB))
- You, the disciple of Christ, KNOWS all things are going to work for good (see
Romans 8:28 (NASB)).
Now GO and as you go let everything that Christ has done for you shine through. Let your thoughts and your actions show the world around you about the glad tidings of the salvation through Christ.
Thank the LORD for the blessings you have, share with others what GOD has done.
Be THE light on the hill that the LORD has placed you on.
AMEN!
